Brockwell Lido Users

Brockwell Lido - Lambeth's greatest multi-cultural-cuts-across all-the-barriers experience!

Welcome to the web site of the Brockwell Lido Users group (BLU). BLU is a pressure group set up to ensure the Brockwell Lido and services within the Lido complex are maintained and extended. You do not need to be a member of BLU to use Lido facilities. For most activities, just show up at the Lido (see map).

Complete and return the membership application form and send it and send it with a donation (if you can afford it) to the address given. You may also apply for membership by e-mail to memberships@brockwelllido.com. Members should add the domain “brockwelllido.com” to their e-mail client's safe senders list to make sure our mailings reach you.

See the timetable of yoga classes for independent yoga teachers at the Lido, with contact information. Also see Antonia's website for classes she runs at the Lido.

The Lido Café (TLC)

The new café is open to everyone, not just pool users.

The Lido Cafe is open all year round for breakfast, lunch and dinner (Friday and Saturday evenings) and everything else in between. It offers fresh juices and smoothies, proper coffee, cakes, ice creams, children’s food, baby food and alcohol too.

Updates and more information will be brought to you by BLU. You can also take a look at the café website for opening offers and other exciting things.

See our books page for details of:
  • Out of the Blue, a book celebrating 70 years of Brockwell Lido
  • Waterwords, a collection of poems written by children and adults by the pool last summer to celebrate the Lido's 70th birthday

Refurbishment of the south side of the Lido is now complete and the Lido is open offering improved 'dry side' facilities, including improved studio space, gym, hydrotherapy, changing rooms and showers. See Fusion website for details of new facilities.

Yoga, meditation, Tai Chi and Whippersnappers activities all continue in the refurbished building. See our timetable page for times of activities. The new showers and changing facilities are available to everyone attending classes.

For more information about children's workshops and birthday parties call at the Whippersnappers reception or phone 020 7738 6633. If you have enquiries about other activities, use the approriate phone number from the timetable.

BLU annual membership donations can now be made via our standing order form.

BLU and Brockwell Lido

The Lido is one of London's few remaining outdoor pools offering open air swimming and sun bathing to the people of Brixton, Herne Hill, Norwood and Tulse Hill, plus many from further a field, through the summer months. The Lido buildings, located within Brockwell Park, provide a peaceful environment for yoga, meditation, tai chi and pre-school children's activities all year round. Such facilities are not available elsewhere in south London.

BLU has worked with Lambeth Council and other local interest groups to represent Lido users as the council changes the way it manages the Lido. Lambeth has appointed Fusion as a long term partner to develop the Lido, which has now been given Grade II Listed Building status.

BLU is active in ensuring user interests are represented in the transition period to new management. We have received undertakings from Fusion to a high level of consultation as they develop the Lido.

You can help us and stay informed by joining BLU. Complete and return the membership application form and send it and send it with a donation (if you can afford it) to the address given. You may also apply for membership by e-mail to memberships@brockwelllido.com

You can e-mail us at info@brockwelllido.com.
