esd
The esd family of websites is developed and supported by Porism. The goal of esd is to help the progress of local governments towards electronic service delivery, relieving costs and collecting data for easy reporting and analysis. New features for these sites are constantly under development, to incorporate exciting new functionality such as customer profiling, or new local government initiatives such as the National Indicators.
The primary site in this group, esd-toolkit is a hosted, secure, online resource that enables all local authorities to record their public facing services against a comprehensive list of services, processes and interactions - using esd-toolkit local authorities can monitor, manage and report on their progress towards implementing electronic government and modernisation targets - making a real difference - improving services for the citizen.
Its sister site, esd-suppliers, makes it possible for suppliers from the private sector to participate in the esd community. Members are able to keep their details up to date on a live supplier register and provide details of their offers directly to esd-toolkit users.
The final major site in this grouping is esd-standards, which features controlled lists suitable for populating metadata associated with local government resources. Each is presented as an XML resource and presented in multiple other formats for both manual inspection and machine reading. The standards are hosted and maintained by Porism.
We also provide an online forum facility for the esd community, to facilitate discussion of any and all relevant issues. This includes both general areas and specialised forums, open only to local government users.
